Mr. Monty R. Leigh, Sr., 60 of Oswego, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse.
Monty was born in New Hartford, on September 8, 1961 the son of Charles and Pauline (Young) Bacon and was a graduate of Westmoreland High School. At one time, Monty was employed with Office Refurbishing, later with Co=operative Extension and most recently with Hunter House in Utica. Monty loved music, fishing and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Leigh is survived by eight children, Tanya Leigh Transou, Heather Lynn Leigh, Jennie Lynn Leigh, Monty R. Leigh, Jr., Contessa Love Leigh, Makenzie Leigh, Dante Leigh and Mia Leigh; five siblings, Linda Boone, Julie Podagrosi, Faith Vandegrift, Bonnie Gray and David Leigh, as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Nelson Leigh, Sr.
Visitation for family and friends is Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a time to share stories and memories at 1:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest with his parents in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.
