Mr. Richard A. Weston, 76, of Rome, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at his home.

Richard was born in Bridgewater, NY, on May 22, 1945, the son of Frank and Mildred (Goodman) Weston. He was raised and educated in Rome, and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. Richard honorably served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. For over 30 years, he was married to Shirley (Tanner) Weston. For 33 years, Richard was employed with Marcy Psychiatric Center and for 17 years as a truck driver with Alnye Trucking Company. Richard was an outdoor enthusiast, who enjoyed camping, fishing and boating. He was also a handyman as was actively involved in his community.

Mr. Weston is survived by his daughter, Katrina Weston of Syracuse; his son, Richard A. Weston, Jr., of Rome; two step-daughters, Michelle of Philadelphia and Tina of Utica; sisters, Denise Brown (James), Debra Weston Rotach (David), Margaret Holloway Corley (Vess), Mildred Weeks, Doris Goodman and Betty Bodley; brothers, Frank Weston, Donald Weston and David Weston, grandchildren, Cornelius, LaQuan, LaShay, Jeffrey, II, Joseph, Jacquez, Shatima, Alexandria, Ian, Manya, A’Lelia, Keiaira, Ah’nyeia, and his “sidekicks”, Jadyn and Daelan; as well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; one granddaughter, Sierra, two grandsons, Willie and Donovan, two brothers, Tony Weston and Livingston Weston and one sister, Ellie King.

Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica followed by a service at 12:00 noon at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest, with military honors, in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.
