Mr. Gordon David Lantzy, 80, of N. Utica, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford.

     Gordon was born on September 10, 1942, in Latrobe, PA, the son of Donald and Carmen (Gordon) Lantzy.  He was raised and educated in Pennsylvania, was a graduate of New Kensington High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  On June 6, 1964, Gordon was united in marriage with Mary Etta Dumez at Mount St. Peter’s Church in New Kensington, PA.  For many years, Gordon was employed with McHarris Gift Center in Utica.  He enjoyed bowling, was an avid Nascar and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and had a large collection of Topps baseball cards.  Gordon was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in N. Utica.

     Mr. Lantzy is survived by his beloved Wife Mary Etta; one daughter, Kristen Lantzy Edic of New Hartford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Michael and Sheryl Lantzy of Charlotte, NC and Eric Jonathan and Pamela Lantzy of Valatie, NY; three cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Marie O’Neil and her wife Amanda of Schenectady, NY, Ean Christopher Lantzy of Valatie, NY and Samantha Suzanne Lantzy of Valatie, NY; two brothers-in-law, Bob Lee Breed and Thomas Douglas Dumez, as well as three nieces and one nephew. 

     Mr. Lantzy’s funeral will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 422 Coventry Ave., N. Utica.  He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Kirkland.  Visitation for family and friends is Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
