Regina M. Brown Obituary

    Mrs. Regina M. Brown, 92, a resident of The Pines at Utica Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of N. Utica, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the nursing home, with her loving family by her side.


     Regina was born in Utica, on March 19, 1930, the daughter of Edward F. and Alice (Finnegan) McGee.  She was a graduate of Waterville High School and earned her RN degree from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing.  On February 4, 1956, Regina was united in marriage with Thomas R. Brown, a devoted union of 60 years, until Thomas’ death in 2016.  For many years, Regina was employed as an RN with St. Elizabeth Medical Center and later with the American Heart Association.  Regina enjoyed crafts and knitting and even taught many residents at the nursing home the trade.  She also enjoyed tending to her flower garden, and had a true love for animals, especially her beloved dogs.  She was a parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in N. Utica.


     Mrs. Brown is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Timothy Brown and Michael and Mona Brown all of N. Utica; three cherished grandchildren, Thomas (Kandra) Brown of Westland, MI, Travis Brown of Charlotte, NC and Miju Park Brown of Seoul, Korea and two adored great grandsons, Thomas and Eli.  She was predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Regina Brown.


     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Regina’s Funeral Mass of Christian burial, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica.  She will be laid to rest in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville.  Those wishing to make a donation in Regina’s memory, please consider Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502.
