Obituary of Mary D. Mulchy

     Mrs. Mary D. Mulchy, 68, of Guilderland, NY and Forestport, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

     Mary was born in Albany, NY, on January 10, 1956, the daughter of John R. and Diana P. (Daly) Devine. She was raised and educated in Delmar, NY, was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Geneseo State College. On October 9, 1982, Mary was united in marriage with Tim Mulchy at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Albany, a loving and devoted union of 42 years. For many years, Mary was employed as intake coordinator with St. Anne Institute in Albany. After her retirement, Mary became co-coordinator at St. Patrick’s and St. Mary’s Food Pantry in Forestport. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, traveling, was an avid reader and especially loved her home on Kayuta Lake. Mary was a devout parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Forestort, NY.

     Mary is survived by her loving husband, Tim; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Susan Devine of Exeter, NH; sister, Mary “Mer” Dundon of Troy, NY; aunt, Anne Marie; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Buddy and Mary Mulchy and Mike and Cheryl Gossin and her faithful canine companion, Molly, who she simply adored. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Diana.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Mary’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 12000 River St., Forestport, NY 13338. She will be laid to rest at St. Agnes Cemetery in Utica at the convenience of the family. Visitation for family and friends is Friday, January 10^th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
