Sandra Jean Cummings of Deerfield, passed away at the age of 58, at Wynn Hospital, Utica.  At the time of her passing she had her loving family by her side.

      Sandy was born in Utica, on July 21, 1966, the daughter of John Robert and Joan (Cromer) Cummings.  She was raised in Deerfield and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School.  She then graduated from MVCC and SUNY with a degree in Sociology.  She has been employed for the past 38 years as the Director of Student Activities at MVCC.  She was an avid Comets fan and was a season ticket holder.  She also enjoyed site seeing and looking at the beauty of the outdoors.

     Sandy is survived by her mother Joan Cummings, her fiancé Joseph Gendron, uncles Donald Cromer, Robert (Diane) Cromer, cousins Kathleen Diehl, Christine (Robert) Saglibene, Elizabeth Cromer, Heather Diehl, John Saglibene.  She was predeceased by her father John Robert Cummings, brother John Robert Cummings, Jr., sister Susan Marie Cummings, aunts Mary Cromer, Jacqueline Cromer and Audry (Stan) Rumont.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Sandy’s funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 1PM, at St Paul’s Catholic Church, 16 Park Ave. Whitesboro, NY.  Visitation will be held prior to her Mass of Christian Burial from 10AM-12:30PM at the Heintz Funeral Service, Inc. 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica, NY. 

     The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at MVHS, ICU Department and their compassionate care of Sandy, especially Stephanie, Joshua, Brittany, Elder and Kyle.
