Obituary of Theresa M. Sprague

    Mrs. Theresa M. Sprague, 86, a resident of the MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New Hartford, formerly of Inman Pl., Yorkville, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the nursing home.

     Theresa was born in Utica, on October 4, 1938, the daughter of Francis and Beatrice (Chabott) Zorn. She was raised and educated locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On April 26, 1958, Theresa was united in marriage with Jack B. Sprague at Sacred Heart Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 51 years, until Jack’s death in 2009. At one time, Theresa was employed with General Electric Company, later with Utica Casket Company and for many years until her retirement, with Smart Fitness Physical Therapy in New Hartford. Theresa was a devout parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica, and a current parishioner of the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa in NY Mills. She also found great peace and joy, camping at the Cold Brook Campgrounds.

     Mrs. Sprague is survived b y her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Philip Marron of Marcy; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Amanda Sprague of Yorkville; son-in-law, Timothy Doyle of CT; Cherished grandchildren, Jessica Clark, Jeremy Clark, Austin (Taryn) Sprague, Marlena Marron, Riannen Marron, Miranda Marron, Timothy Doyle, III, and Alexis Sprague; two sisters, Loretta Zorn of Yorkville and Millie Zorn of Washington Mills, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, JoAnn Clark and Christine Doyle and one son, Robert Sprague.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Theresa’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 10:30 am at the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa, 201 Main St., NY Mills, NY. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the funeral Mass. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville.
