Obituary of Mark E. Calhoun

    Mr. Mark E. Calhoun, 73, of Deerfield, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, with his loving wife by his side.

     Mark was born in Utica on July 18, 1951, the son of John and Virginia Calhoun. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Mark proudly served in the US Air Force from 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1976. On October 11, 1980, Mark was united in marriage with Lisa Bingham, a loving and devoted union of 44 years. For many years, Mark was employed as an electrician with IBEW Local 43. Through the union, he worked with many companies in the area, most notably, Engler Electric and Casatelli Electric. Mark enjoyed Golf, feeding the birds, working around his house and his trips to South Carolina.  

     Mr. Calhoun is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; brother-in-law, Al Cherubin of Nebraska; sister-in-law, Kim (Thomas) Meusel of Massachusetts; nieces and nephews, Anna Meusel, Tommy Meusel, Will Meusel, Todd (Tonia) Campbell, John (Heather) Campbell and Sarah (Andrew Gross) Cherubin and great nieces and nephews, Madyson, Ian, Kinzley, Leo and Owen. He was predeceased by his sister, Lois Cherubin and brother, Robert Calhoun.

     Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a service at 3:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation.
