Obituary of Joan M. Pellerito
Mrs. Joan M. Pellerito, 80, of Deerfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at her home.
Joan was born in Little Falls, NY on September 27, 1944, the daughter of Walter and Olga (Basey) Palisi. She was raised and educated in Littler Falls and was a graduate of Little Falls High School. She furthered her education, earning her bachelor’s degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland. On April 1, 1967, Joan was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart, Anthony E. Pellerito, a loving and devoted union of 57 years. Joan was employed as a physical education teacher at Whitesboro High School. She also coached girls’ softball, soccer and basketball at Westmoreland High School. Joan loved spending time at the family camp at Rondaxe Lake in Old Forge and especially loved traveling with her husband Anthony. They enjoyed many vacations with National Geographic Tours, visiting the Galapagos Islands, Machu Picchu and other great locations.
Mrs. Pellerito is survived by her loving husband, Anthony; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Brenda Pellerito of New Ipswich, New Hampshire and Daniel and Holly Pellerito of New Orleans, Louisiana and six cherished grandchildren, Alexander Pellerito, Sophia Pellerito, Henry Pellerito, Abigail Pellerito, Zachary Frediani and Tyler Frediani.
There are no services planned at this time. A memorial service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at a later date.
