Mrs.  Patti A. Nicholson, 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home in North Utica, on Monday, February 17, 2025.

    Patti, a lifelong Utica native, was born on July 25, 1950, the daughter of the late Leon and Doris (Trask) Villeneuve.  She was educated in Utica, was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and earned her nursing degree from Marcy Nursing School.  For many years, Patti was employed as a registered nurse with several facilities in New York, Florida and Colorado, and most recently at Willow Park Assisted Living Facility in North Utica.  Patti was extremely proud of her distinguished nursing career which spanned over 50 years. On January 30, 2004, she was united in marriage with James” Nick” William Nicholson, in Ocala Florida, a loving union of almost 20 years, until James’ death on January 13, 2023.  Patti loved doing puzzles, knitting and going places with her beloved canine companion, Shelby.

     Patti is survived by her children, Robert (Jennifer) Henderson of Brighton, CO, Renee (William) Walker of El Reno, OK, Anne (Robert) Perry of Verona, NY and Aaron (Jackie) Henderson of Taberg, NY, eight cherished grandchildren, Ian, Chloe, Emily, Mya, Aiden, Conrad, Zeke and Jax; two sisters, Debbie (Jerry) Falk of Ilion, NY and Mary (John) Scholl of  Clinton. NY, two brothers, Gary (Diane) Villeneuve of Altamont, NY and Steve (Patty) Villeneuve of Williamsburg, VA and her dear lifelong best friend, Kathleen LaGasse, who Patti treasured spending time with and their long talks. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

     In keeping with Patti’s wishes, there will be no formal service or calling hours at this time.  Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
