Obituary of Daniel J. Diefenbach

    Mr. Daniel J. Diefenbach, 78, a resident of Brookdale Senior Living in Clinton, NY and  formerly of Whitesboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY.

     Daniel was born in Utica, on February 21, 1946, the son of Neil G. and Irene (Richer) Diefenbach. He was raised locally, was a graduate of Whitesboro High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Utica College. For many years, Daniel was employed with General Mill Work Company in Utica. After the mill’s closure, he went to work with Echo Video in Utica. Daniel was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants Fan, as more recently enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed early rock and roll music, was an old movie buff, especially the three stooges, and amassed quite a large collection of DVD movies and CD’s. Danile was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro.

     As a resident of Brookdale since 2019, Daniel found great joy spending time with the many friends he made their and especially enjoyed the Thursday afternoon happy hour.

     A heartfelt thank you is extended to his caregivers and the entire staff at Brookdale Senior Living, especially Tatiana’s Band of Angels, for the loving and compassionate care you provided to Daniel. Your love for Daniel over the past six years will not be forgotten.

     There is no visitation or services planned at this time. He will be laid to rest with his parents in Ohio Methodist Cemetery, Ohio, NY, in the spring.
