
Obituary of Vincent Joseph Geglia
Vincent Joseph Geglia went to be with the lord on Friday, February 28, 2025.
Vincent was born on May 13, 1952, in Watertown NY, the son of Vincent and Agnes (Morgia) Geglia. In his early years, he went to Catholic schools in Syracuse. It was discovered early on how talented he was and his beautiful voice. The Nuns would take him room to room to sing in Italian for his fellow classmates. He also enjoyed his time in Watertown, where all his family originated and especially spending time with his grandmother and cousins. Vinny was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Vinny excelled in sports, playing football, baseball, and enjoyed speed skating. On August 3, 1974, Vinny was united in marriage with Patricia M. Demma of New Hartford, out of this union they had four children and celebrated 50 years of marriage. Vinny was hard working, always providing for his family. He was also a gifted musician; guitar player and singer and truly had a love for music which has created many cherished memories. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing and golfing. Vinny was a very happy person always smiling and laughing. He would light up any room he entered. He will most be remembered as a family man with a warm and caring heart and love for God, family, and friends.
Vinny is survived by his wife Patricia; three daughters and sons in law, Allison and Ronald Barron, Stacie and Ronald Ricci, and Lindsay and Robert Emery. One son and daughter in law Vincent and Shiloh Geglia, one sister and brother-in-law Patricia and James Owen and one brother Joseph Geglia. Vinny had 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces’ nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly. Vinny's dedication to family connections will live on through all.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Vincent's Funeral Mass of Christian burial on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Annunciation, 7616 E. South St., Clark Mills, NY. Calling hours for family and friends is Thursday, March 6th from 2:00-4:00 PM at Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd. North Utica. He will be laid to rest in the spring.
