Obituary of Deisy Marie Gomez

     Deisy Marie Gomez, 76 of Utica, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Wynn Hospital with her loving family by her side.

    Deisy was born in the Dominican Republic, on February 2, 1949, The daughter of Frank Gomez and Maria Bocanegra. She was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic, before coming to the United Sates in the 1970’s. Deisy will be lovingly remembered as a very caring person, whose family, and especially her adored grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

     Deisy is survived by her six sons, Jose Lopez, Ewin Lopez, Pedro Lopez, Ariel Ortiz, Waldy Ortiz and Franklin Arias; 20 cherished grandchildren, Genesis, Pamela, Priscilla, Heydi, Yennifer, Ewin, Sonia, Emily, Catherine, Angel, Stephanie, Nicole, Bridgette, Bryan, Abrianna, Alexander, Abigail, Jacob, Annabelle and Junior; 14 adored great grandchildren, Jayla, Mia, Milo, Addy, Bryson, Gael, Lorenzo, Yailin, Elijah, Noah, Isaiah, Dominic, Kiyomi and Symphony; two sisters, Nini Duran and Isabel Everett and two brothers, Rolando Gomez and William Gomez as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Gustavo Lopez; one brother, Pedro Gomez and one sister, Heydi Gomez.

     Relatives and friends are invited to Deisy’s funeral on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica. Visitation for family and friends is Sunday, March 9^th from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM at the funeral home.

     Deisy Marie Gomez, de 76 años, de Utica, falleció el viernes 7 de marzo de 2025 en el Hospital Wynn con su amada familia a su lado.

     Deisy nació en la República Dominicana, el 2 de febrero de 1949, hija de Frank Gómez y María Bocanegra. Fue criada y educada en la República Dominicana, antes de llegar a los Estados Unidos en la década de 1970. Deisy será recordada con cariño como una persona muy cariñosa, cuya familia, y especialmente sus adorados nietos y bisnietos, fueron la luz de su vida. Ella pertenecía a la fe pentecostal.

     A Deisy le sobreviven sus seis hijos, José López, Ewin López, Pedro López, Ariel Ortiz, Waldy Ortiz y Franklin Arias; 20 queridos nietos, Genesis, Pamela, Priscilla, Heydi, Yennifer, Ewin, Sonia, Emily, Catherine, Angel, Stephanie, Nicole, Bridgette, Bryan, Abrianna, Alexander, Abigail, Jacob, Annabelle y Junior; 14 bisnietos adorados, Jayla, Mia, Milo, Addy, Bryson, Gael, Lorenzo, Yailin, Elijah, Noah, Isaiah, Dominic, Kiyomi y Symphony; dos hermanas, Nini Durán e Isabel Everett y dos hermanos, Rolando Gómez y William Gómez, así como numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos. Fue precedida por su hijo, Gustavo López; un hermano, Pedro Gómez y una hermana, Heydi Gómez.

     Familiares y amigos están invitados al funeral de Deisy el lunes 10 de marzo de 2025 a las 11:00 a.m. en la Funeraria Heintz, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Será enterrada en el cementerio de Forest Hill en Utica. El velorio para familiares y amigos es el domingo 9 de marzo de 2:00 p.m. a 5:00 p.m. en la funeraria.
