Obituary of Shirley A. Misiaczek

     Mrs. Shirley A. Misiaczek, 83, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Wynn Hospital with her loving family by her side.

     Shirley was born in Utica on September 1, 1941, the daughter of Frank and Jane Thrasher. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. In 1982, Shirley was united in marriage with Casmire Misiaczek, a loving and devoted union of 15 years until Casmire’s death in 1997. For many years, Shirley was employed in the environmental services department at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital in New Hartford. Shirley enjoyed sewing, ceramics and was of the Catholic faith.

     Mrs. Misiaczek is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rosemarie Hughes of N. Utica; Daughter and son-in-law, Jane and John DeAngelo of Canton, GA; step-son, Casmire and Nancy Misiaczek of Deerfield; five cherished grandchildren, Dana (Brandon) Merritt, Robert (Brianna) Hughes, Jr., Ashlee (Kyle Cousin) Hughes, Michael (Maria) Misiaczek and Christopher (Alex) Misiaczek; four adored great grandchildren, Austin, Luke, Robert and Jeremy and was anxiously awaiting the arrival her 5^th great grandchild; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Patty Alsante of Utica and Frances and Patsy DeRosa of Utica; her niece whom she was especially close with, Lori Misiaczek, as well as several additional beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.

     Visitation for family and friends is Friday, April 11, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a service at 6:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville.
