David C. Hardy Obituary

     Mr. David C. Hardy, 87, of Whitesboro, NY, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Wynn Hospital with his loving family by his side.


     David was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 25, 1937, the son of Carroll and Almyra (Warner) Hardy. He was a graduate of North Syracuse High School and Mohawk Valley Technical Institute. David served in the US Army from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1963. On October 3, 1964, David was united in marriage with Margaret “Corky” H. Redmond at Sacred Heart Chur4ch in Utica.  At one time, David was employed with General Electric Company, and for many years as a mechanic with National Grid, retiring in 1999. He was a member of American Legion post 1113 in Whitesboro and VFW post 6001 in Yorkville.  David was an avid NY Yankees fan and enjoyed working on cars.


     Mr. Hardy is survived by his beloved wife, Corky; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Mike Sanderson of Deansboro; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David M. and Barbara Hardy of Deerfield and John Hardy of Ithaca; four cherished grandchildren, Aaron Hardy, Claire (Joshua) Thorp, Liam Sanderson and Colin Sanderson and one sister-in-law, Pat Redmond of Utica as well as two nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Carroll and Almyra and brother, Allan Hardy.


     Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a service at 5:30 PM at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to donate in David’s memory, please consider the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
