Mr. Louis Michael Putrelo, 80, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Loretto Health and Rehabilitation in Syracuse.

     Louis was born in Utica, on June 10, 1944, the son of Anthony Joseph and Josephine (Davoli) Putrelo. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. In August of 1966, Louis was united in marriage with Gloria Onafero, a devoted union of almost 59 years. For many years until his retirement, Louis was employed with the Laborers’ Union local #35, where he also served on the executive board. At one time, Louis served as the Mayor of Clayville, NY, where he dedicated his time tirelessly to the betterment of the village. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially spending time at his camp at Cape Vincent on the St. Lawrence River. He was of the Catholic faith.

     Mr. Putrelo is survived by his wife, Gloria; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Louis Putrelo of Marcy, NY, Michael Putrelo of Cape Vincent, NY and David and Robin Putrelo of Pulaski, NY; three cherished grandsons, Louis Putrelo, Jr., Ryan Putrelo and Joseph Putrelo as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Butch Putrelo, Joseph Putrelo and Anthony Putrelo and a sister, Joanna Putrelo.

     Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a service at 7:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation.
