Ronald J. Cyr Obituary

     Mr. Ronald J. Cyr, 77, of Marcy, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Wynn Hospital with his loving family by his side.


     Ronald was born in Utica, on September 8, 1947, the son of Robert and Eleanor (Stomierowski) Cyr. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On July 30, 1971, Ronald was united in marriage with Marilyn E. Zarnoch at St. Peter’s Church, N. Utica. For many years, Ron was employed with Utica Corp, retiring in 2002. He was also the owner and operator of Ron Cyr Tree & Stump Removal. Ron was an avid deer and rabbit hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mark’s Church in N. Utica.


     Mr. Cyr is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald Jeffrey Cyr of Marcy and Martin Joseph and Athena Cyr of Holland Patent; five cherished grandchildren, Danielle Cyr, Jacob Cyr, Lila Cyr, Kyle Cyr and Colin Cyr; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Kevin and Shelly Cyr of Hawaii, and Debra Cyr of Oregon; one nephew and two nieces, Samuel Cyr, Jessica Cyr and Kristina Cyr-Beckley and and special great niece, Arysely Acevedo as well as several additional great nieces, great nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Bryan Cyr and nephew, Seth Cyr.


     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Ronald’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Mark’s Church 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the funeral Mass. He will be laid to rest in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Anita’s Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at Church.
