Miss Margaret “Peg” E. Hecox, 96, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Abraham House in Rome, with her loving family by her side.

     Margaret was born in Utica, on February 28, 1929, the daughter of George and Grace (Ohl) Hecox. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. For many years, until her retirement, Peg was employed with Commercial Travelers Insurance Company. She enjoyed downhill Skiing, bowling and was a parishioner of Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of The Rosary Church in New Hartford.

     Miss Hecox is survived by her sister, Frances Roemer of Utica as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, James (June) Hecox, Charles "Pete" (Matilda) Hecox, Lawrence “Mike” Hecox, Elinor "Lee" (Stanley) Kemp, Dorothy “Dewey” (Robert) Cox and a brother-in-law, Daniel Roemer.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Margaret’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of The Rosary Campus, 1736 Burrstone Rd., New Hartford. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. In keeping with Peg’s wishes, there are no calling hours.      Miss Hecox’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Peg’s aide, Ashley, for the loving care you provided to her. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
