Richard “Dick” Greenwood passed away on July 4, 2025. at the Wynn Hospital.

     Dick was born October 11,1942, Waltham, MA the son of Charles and Dorothy (LaVie) Greenwood. On October 20, 1990, Dick was united in marriage with Carolyn Newhouse a loving and devoted marriage of twenty-nine years until Carolyn’s passing in 2019. Dick was a former mechanic with the Oneida County DPW and would later drive bus for the Utica City School District. Dick had numerous hobbies including wood working, traveling to Massachusetts and was able to take a once in a lifetime trip to Hawaii. He was a parishioner of St. Marks Church in North Utica.

     Dick is Survived by his son Earl Greenwood; a stepdaughter Cindi Vespi; a stepson Steve Briggs; five step-grandchildren, Courtney, Erica, Alexandria, Jason and Lucas.  Besides his beloved wife, Carolyn and parents, Charles and Dorothy, he was predeceased by two sisters, Janet and Elanie and five brothers, William, Charles, James, Ronald, and John.

     In accordance with Dick’s wishes, funeral services will be private and at the convince of the family.  Arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Serivce, Inc., N. Utica.
