Dawn M. Chaisson, 57, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Wynn Hospital in Utica with her loving family by her side.

    Dawn was born in Utica on April 24, 1968, the daughter of Wallace and Judith (Morrison) Neary. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On August 17, 1996, Dawn was united in marriage with David J. Chaisson at St. Agnes Church in Utica. At one time, Dawn was employed at Sturges Manufacturing in Utica, later as a home health care aide and currently, as activities assistant at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Utica. Dawn enjoyed puzzles, playing bingo and especially loved going to the casino at Vernon Downs. She was also a big NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. Dawn was of the Catholic faith.

     Dawn is survived by her loving husband, David; son, Joshua Neary; mother, Judith Neary; one sister, Jill Brown and three brothers, Reed Neary, Scott Neary and Shawn Neary as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Wallace.

     Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by a prayer service at 3:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation.

     Dawn’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the ICU at Wynn Hospital, for the loving care and compassion you provided to Dawn and comfort you provided to the family.

     As a final gift, Dawn lovingly donated her organs so that so many others may live a full and healthy life. May God bless her eternally.
