Mrs. Lois H. Leaf of Yorkville, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, in the comfort of her home with her three daughters by her side.

     Lois was born in Utica, on August 31, 1931, the daughter of Harold and Lottie (Lockwood) Sumner and attended Utica Schools. In 1954, Lois married the love of her life, Verne (Roger) Leaf. The couple resided in Utica until 1966, before moving to Yorkville to raise their four daughters. It was a loving union of 55 years, until Roger’s passing in 2009. Lois was a former member of Trinity Methodist Church in Whitesboro and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7393 in NY Mills.

     Mrs. Leaf is survived by her daughters, Donna Cady of Marcy, Linda Leaf and Rene Light of Utica and Barbara Leaf of Marcy. Her cherished grandchildren, Tammy Gardner and family, Richard Cady, Chuck Lundgren, Belinda Leonard and family and Mary Ann Constantine. Besides her husband Roger, she was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Constantine; a granddaughter, Beth Ann Cady and her siblings, Elsie, Mable, Lillian and Chuck

     Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.  In keeping with her daughters wishes, please omit floral offerings and consider donating to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
