Geraldine C. Sciortino passed away peacefully with her family by her side July 31st, 2025, at Wynn Hospital.
Geraldine was born on May 28th, 1960. In Buffalo NY to Jack Sciortino and Margaret Lawrence.
Geraldine was a graduate of the Utica City Schools and would later be employed as a machine operator with Human Tech Corporation for fifty years.
Geraldine had many hobbies such as crocheting, needlepointing, painting, puzzles, diamond dots and reading. Geraldine was highly active with RCIL in Utica advocating for independence for people with disabilities. Geraldine had a special knack for finding hidden treasures at garage sales and always on the lookout for books and little surprises for her Great Nieces who she adored! Which brought her the most joy and happiness. She was lovingly supported by her brother George who showed up for her every single day with quiet strength and deep care during her health journey.
Geraldine leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Theodore Pillmore of Utica. A brother George Sciortino of Utica. A niece and her husband Amanda and Stephen Sliski of Clay. Three great nieces Solana, Malia and Isabelle.
Geraldine is predeceased by her Parents Jack and Margaret, her Aunt Nancy Sciortino, and Uncle Tony and Aunt Mary Sciortino of Utica.
A graveside service will be held on August 6th, 2025, at Calvary Cemetery at 10:00 am.
