Norman A. Huzar Obituary

    Mr. Norman A. Huzar, 94, a resident of the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Utica, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Wynn Hospital with his loving family by his side.


     Norman was born in New York Mills, NY, on January 15, 1931, the son of Andrew and Victoria (Szczygiel) Huzar. He was raised locally and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Norman proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. For many years, Norman was employed with Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, retiring when the company closed. He was a gifted artist and had a passion for gardening.


    Mr. Huzar is survived by his niece, Dawn (Rick) Maggiolino of Whitesboro; nephew, Anthony (Pat) DeCola of Whitesboro as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Kagan; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Adolph DeCola; niece, Victoria DeCola and nephew, Andrew DeCola.


     In keeping with Norman’s wishes, there are no calling hours and a private family service to honor Norman will be held. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Kirkland.      Mr. Huzar’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff on the IMCU at Wynn Hospital as well as Briana, Katie, Kim, Antonio, and Sara on the 8th floor for the wonderful care and compassion you provided to Norman. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
