Mr. George C. Schiemer, 88, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at his home.
George was born in Erie, PA on March 3, 1937, and received his education there. George proudly served in the US Army durring the Vietnam War. For many years, he was employed as a mechanic at Ford Motor Company in Erie, PA. George was a gifted woodworker and will be remembered for his strong work ethic that was second to none. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Schiemer is survived by his children, Ronald Schiemer, Donald Schiemer, Daisey McGoldrick, Tammy Schiemer, Sally Berry, John Schiemer, Patty Schiemer, Dora Mashtare Trooper, Angela Mashtare and her fiancee Raymond Schloop, Russell Mashtare and Peter Mashtare; his loving companion, Kathleen Davis; two brothers, Bobby Schiemer and Ronald Schiemer; brother-in-law, Bobby Rinkel as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews with special mention of his grandson Peter who he raised. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet Rinkel Schiemer; daughter, Sherrie Goldman; companion, Miriam Mashtare; siblings, Violet Merchant, Mickey Merchant and Kenny Merchant and nephew, Bobby Schiemer, Jr.
Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica followed by a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation.
