Mr. Gary Mark Lehner, 67, of N. Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Gary was born in Utica on June 7, 1958, the son of Thomas and Joyce (Burritt) Lehner. He was raised in Utica, was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and attended Mohawk Valley Community College. Gary proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1975 until his honorable discharge in 1977. On November 17, 1985, Gary was united in marriage with Susan M. Hoch, a loving and devoted union of almost 40 years. At one time, Gary was employed with Smith Packing in Utica, later as a cable installer in North Carolina and lastly, an oxygen delivery driver for Lincare in New Hartford. Gary was a die-hard NY Yankees fan, as well as an avid Star Wars and Star Trek enthusiast. His greatest joy was the time he spent caring for his cherished grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Mr. Lehner is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; two daughters and one son-in-law, Dawn and Kevin Gilbo of Herkimer and Rose Panuccio of N. Utica; one son, Wayne Lehner; five cherished grandchildren, Asia Panuccio, Michael Panuccio, Chase Gilbo, Isabella Panuccio and Olivia Gilbo; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Jim Emerson of N. Utica and Denise and Steve Fortson of Alabama and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Edward and Sunna Lehner of NY City and Jason Lehner of Utica, as well as several nieces and nephews.
