Mrs. Mary W. Williams, 100, a resident of the MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New Hartford, formerly of Utica, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the nursing home.
Mary was born in Sauquoit, NY on August 4, 1925, the daughter of Orlo and Lucy (Doyle) Weigel. She was raised in Sauquoit, was a graduate of Sauquoit High School and Utica School of Commerce. On August 16, 1952, Mary was united in marriage with Robert T. Williams at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chadwick’s, NY, a loving and devoted union of 59 years, until Robert’s passing in 2011. At one time, Mary was employed with the New York State Department of Public Works. She was a long time parishioner, usher and active volunteer at the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert T., Jr. and Camy A. Williams of Utica; five cherished grandchildren, Robert T. Williams, IV, Ryan M. (Lisha) Williams, Corey J. (Kaylin) Williams, Shawn P. Williams and Caitlin M. Granitto and her fiancé Damien Armitage and five adored great grandchildren, Jace, Jax, Payton, Laney and Cameron as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her beloved husband, Robert, Mary was predeceased by her daughter Karen Williams in 1996, one brother and several sisters.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there are no calling hours. A private family service will be held to honor their loved one. She will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
