Mr. Francis R. “Frank” Saporito, 88, of N. Utica, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025.

    Francis was born in Utica on October 7, 1936. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. On April 12, 1958, Frank was united in marriage with Nita K. Emrick, a loving and devoted union of 64 years, until Nita’s passing in 2022. For many years until his retirement, Frank was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY. Frank’s greatest joy was his grandsons who were the light of his life.

    Mr. Saporito is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Frank and Gina Saporito of N. Utica and Jeff Saporito of Frankfort; two cherished grandsons, Vincent Saporito of Newport, NY and Frank Saporito of CA; one sister, Jane Doti of Utica as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his beloved wife, Nita, Frank was predeceased by four brothers, Joe Saportio, Jimmy Saporito, Tony Saporito and Guy Saporito.

     In keeping with Frank’s wishes, there are no calling hours or services.

     Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., N. Utica.
