John Michael Hamlin, 58, of Oriskany, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 12, 2025, at his home.

     John was born in Utica, on August 25, 1967, the son of John R. and Patricia (Krol) Hamlin. He was raised in New Hartford, was a graduate of New Hartford High School and earned his associated degree in computer technology from Mohawk Valley Community College. At one time, John was employed as a branch manager at various McDonald’s restaurants in the area. In 1995, he relocated to Lawrenceville, GA where he worked as a computer technician/trouble shooter for Peachtree Insurance Advisors. John was a huge baseball and football enthusiast, an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as an outstanding baseball player and gifted softball player. John was of the Catholic faith.

     John is survived by his father and step-mother, John R. and Donna Hamlin of Clinton, NY; six siblings, Denise (Mark) Fauteux of Chadwick’s, NY, David (Patricia) Hamlin of Rome, NY, Stacy (Michael) Achen of Manhein, PA, Heather Hamlin of Clinton, NY, Christian Fehr of Hamilton, NY and Michael Hamlin of Clinton, NY; his cherished nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, Stephanie (Steven) Kitchen, Jessica Fauteux, Daniel (Geena) Hamlin, Alicia Fauteux, Kellie Fauteux, Mackenzie Decker, Montana Decker, Alec Achen, Gavin Achen, Sawyer Hamlin, Kendall Achen and Peyton Hamlin; and adored great niece, Amelia Kitchen and his best friend, Hollis Pevear as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Patricia and Jack Fehr.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to John’s memorial Mass of Christian burial on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes campus, 2222 Genesee St., Utica. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the memorial Mass. Those wishing to donate in John’s memory, please consider the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
