Mrs. Patricia M. Spatuzzi, 83, of Schuyler, NY, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

     Patricia was born in Utica, on June 11, 1942, the daughter of George J. and Helena (Hartnett) Slater. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Utica Free Academy. In 1961, Patricia was united in marriage with Robert R. Cardamone, and the couple were blessed with three children. Robert passed away in 1965. In 1968, she married Robert Spatuzzi and they shared a loving union of 56 years, characterized by mutual trust and support. Pat’s joy in life was found in nurturing her children and creating a warm and loving home. An accomplished cook and baker, she derived great pleasure in gathering her children and grandchildren for family dinners. A gracious hostess, all were welcome to her home and at her table. Pat was employed at the North Utica Senior Center, the Senior Day Center and retired from the Utica Transit Authority where for 12 years she coordinated the Call a Bus Transportation. Upon retirement, she operated a gift basket business, putting her creative talents to work. She was an avid reader and enjoyed oil painting and was proud to have had one of her paintings included in the Munson Williams Sidewalk Art Show. In her spare time, she happily volunteered at the Threads of Life thrift store and as a reading tutor at General Herkimer School.

     Mrs. Spatuzzi is survived by her loving husband, Bob; her daughters, Christine and Patrick Donovan, Kimberly and Kenneth Deming and Kathleen Spatuzzi and Tammy Zumbo; sons, Robert Cardamone and Mark and Brie (Schroeder) Spatuzzi; cherished grandchildren, Taryn Donovan, Lauryn (Justin) Shephard, Ryan (Ena) Donovan, Aaron (Faith) Deming, Justin (Courtney) Deming, Caitlin (Elvis) Bajrektarevic, Nathan Spatuzzi, Andrew Spatuzzi and Matthew Spatuzzi; brother-in-law, Gary Spatuzzi as well as eight adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jack Slater, Robert Slater and William Slater; sister, Mina Ford; and in-laws, Jean Kinsella, William Spatuzzi and Maureen Spatuzzi.

     Visitation for family and friends is Friday, September 19, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a prayer service and time for personal reflection at the conclusion of visitation. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Utica, at the convenience of the family.
