Ms. Cheryl Ann “PeeWee” Dinneen, 79, of Schuyler, NY passed away on Wednesday October 15, 2025, at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Mohawk Valley in Ilion, with her loving family by her side.

     Cheryl was born in Utica, on October 23, 1945, the daughter of R. Louis and Winifred (Garrow) DeShane. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. In 1963, Cheryl was united in marriage with John Dinneen, Sr. At one time, she was employed at F.W. Woolworth in New Hartford and for many years, as a Customer Service Manager at Walmart in N. Utica. Cheryl enjoyed puzzles, gardening and in her free time, enjoyed watching her favorite TV programs, Family Feud, The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. She was of the Catholic faith.

     Ms. Dinneen is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Sherry Sayles of Schuyler, and Michelle and Daniel Lesniak of Schuyler; two sons, John Dinneen, Jr of Schuyler and Louis Dinneen of Utica; six cherished grandchildren, Kristen Sayles, James (Carina) Sayles, Melissa Sayles (Dylan Davis), Daniel (Ashley) Lesniak, Jr., Steven Lesniak and Faith Lesniak; eight adored great grandchildren, Shianna, Danell, Mia, Vinnie, Natalie, Brendan, Oliver and Benjamin; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Darlene DeSchene of FL, Sharon DeShane of TX, Holly DeShane of Frankfort and Robin and Joe Nalaskowski of Herkimer and one brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbra DeShane of Utica, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, John; brother, Gene DeChene and son-in-law Joseph Sayless.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Cheryl’s funeral service on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. He will be laid to rest in West Schuyler Cemetery, Schuyler, NY.  Visitation for family and friends is Sunday, October 19th from 4:00-6:00 pm.      Ms. Dinneen’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Mohawk Valley for the compassionate care you provided to Cheryl. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
