     Mr. Robert Raymond Malara, 74, of Marcy, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Wynn Hospital with his loving wife, grandchildren, sister Donna and her husband Paul, by his side.


    Robert was born in Utica, on October 5, 1951, the son of Patsy, Jr. and Winifred (LaQay) Malara and was a graduate of Poland Central High School. He furthered his education at Riverside School of Aeronautics. On December 28, 1990, Robert was united in marriage with Mary Jane Emma. Robert was the owner and operator of Multiple Aircraft Services in Utica and also worked at Evergreen International at the Syracuse Airport. Robert was a licensed airplane pilot and loved to fly. He was the proud recipient of two prestigious awards in 2019, The FAA Charles Taylor “Master Mechanic” Award in recognition of 50 years as an aircraft maintenance technician and The Wright Brothers “Master Pilot” Award in recognition of 50 years as a pilot with an unblemished safety record. Robert was always grateful for receiving the “Gift of Life” when he was the recipient of a heart transplant on August 8, 2003, at Albany Medical Center.


     Mr. Malara is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jane; son, Andrew (Tina) Malara, their children, Bella and Lia Malara and Andrew’s mother, Linda Goding Malara; Step-son, Joseph (Tanya) Siciliano; daughter-in-law, Fran Siciliano; cherished grandchildren, Brandi McArthus, Giovanna Siciliano, Mia Siciliano, Vincenzo (Erika Casey)  Siciliano, Mary Jane Siciliano, Rebecca Siciliano and Jordan (Alicia) Lang; adored great grandchildren, Seth McArthur, Ian McArthur, Bella Siciliano, Marius Sessoms, Leilani Sessoms, Ronan Stevens, Scarlet Angerosa, Mason Angerosa, Sylvia Siciliano; one brother, Patsy (Gretchen) Malara III and two sisters, Donna Maria (Paul) Latella-Malara and Elaine Malara. He was predeceased by his stepson. Michael Siciliano, Grandson, Michael Joseph Siciliano and brother, Michael Thomas Malara.


     Robert will be honored in a private family service. He will be laid to rest in North Gage Cemetery.
