Christie Lynn Baye Obituary

     Christie Lynn Baye, 48, of Deerfield, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Wynn Hospital.


     Christie was born in Utica, on May 23, 1977, the daughter of James Baye and Janice Leone. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High in N. Utica. At one time, Christie was employed at Jack Appleseed’s Tavern in Utica and later Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse in Utica. For over 25 years, owned and operated a home daycare in both Deerfield and New Hartford. Christie enjoyed playing bingo on her phone, drinking coffee and bird watching on her back porch, photography, and especially loved decorating her home for the holidays. Her greatest joy was her beloved family. The love and devotion she provided to them was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Whitesboro.


     Christie is survived by her loving companion, James Moran; her cherished daughters, Melinda Graniela (Jose Delatorre), Jessica Baye (Logan Beach), Grace Moran and Franca (Anthony) LaBarbera; cherished sons, Joseph Perretta (Ciara Dooley), Matthew Baye, Collin Moran and Casey Moran; three adored grandchildren, Naomi, Rowan and Sylvie; her parents, James Baye and Janice Leone (Kenneth Bowker); sister, Tracy Leone (Robert Baum); brothers, Joseph Leone and Robert (Stacy) Leone; niece, Marlee; nephew, Nicholas (Sarah); great nephew, Lincoln and sister-in-law, Karen (Chris) Day, Lauren (Tony) Paparella and Christy (Bill) Tuttle; dear friends Brenna and Aaron Johnston, Joseph Perretta and Frank Vita, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved canine companion, Harley. She was predeceased by an infant child, grandmother Grace Borawski and her in-laws, James, Sr and Elizabeth Moran.


     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Christie’s memorial Mass of Christian burial on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 9:30 am at St. Paul’s Church, 16 Park Ave., Whitesboro. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the memorial Mass. A celebration of life will take place on November 8th at 12 North from 2-6 pm. She will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to donate in Christie’s memory, please consider the American Cancer Society, P.O.
