Dominica J. Stewart Obituary

    Mrs. Dominica J. Stewart, 84, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her home.


   Dominica was born in Utica, on December 4, 1940, the daughter of Angelo and Genevieve (Borek) Musa and stepdaughter of Gerald Zegarelli. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On February 7, 1959, Dominica was united in marriage with Elliott Gene Stewart at St. Patrick’s Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 52 years, until Elliott’s passing in 2011. For over 30 years until her retirement, Dominica was employed at Heron Cable Company/Adelphia Cable Company in Utica. She was longtime parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica and a current parishioner of the Church of The Sacred Heart & St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa in New York Mills. Dominica was an avid golf enthusiast and a NY Yankees Fan.


     Mrs. Stewart is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Denise Stewart of Utica; two daughters, Jennifer Stewart of Utica and Allison Stewart of Oneida; one sister, Cynthia Conigliaro of Galway, NY; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Kevin) Lovelass and their sons, Ryan and Joshua of Galway, Jeffery (Sara) Stewart and their sons, Corey, Cody and Collin of Whitesboro and Susan (Fred) Griffiths and their children, Mack, Allie and Gus of Port Orange, FL and three dear neighbors, Jennifer, Ricky and Dennis. Besides her husband, Elliott, parents, Angelo and Genevieve and stepfather, Gerald, Dominica was predeceased by two sisters, Sandra Lupa and Patricia Zegarelli, nephew, David John Conigliaro, in-laws, Edward and Genevieve Stewart and brother-in-law, James (Marie) Stewart.


   Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Dominica’s funeral Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. at the Church of The Sacred Heart & St. Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa, 201 Main St., New York Mills. She will be laid to rest at St. George Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, November 15th from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
