Mrs. Eleanor Z. Parker Grant, 86, of Deerfield, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the St. Luke’s Home in New Hartford.
Eleanor was born in Chicago, IL, on December 23, 1938, the daughter of Alexander and Oline (Jensen) Parker. She was raised in Chicago and received her education there. In 1964 Eleanor was united in marriage with Swale Grant, a devoted union of 43 years until Swale’s passing in 2007. For many years, Eleanor was employed at Forrest & Parker Trailer Sales in Wilmington, DE. She was a gifted saleswoman whose work ethic was second to none. Eleanor’s deep love and devotion to her family was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mrs. Grant is survived by two granddaughters, Jamie (Jarod) Goodwyn and Millie (Minh) Nguyen; 5 great grandchildren, Roman, Messiah, Message, Miracle and Mariah; nephews and nieces, Edward (Michelle) Simpson, who lovingly cared for Eleanor over the past several years, Jim (Janet) Thomas, Jim Simpson, Jane (Benny) Evans, Al Parker, Hamilton Parker, Patrick (Peggy Sue) Riley, Eleanor (Tom) McDonald, Margaret (Jim) Carroll and Maryellen Sherlock; sister-in-law, Eppie Sines, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Swale J. Grant, sisters and brothers, Nora Stokes, James Parker, Margaret Thomas, Jane Simpson, Alexander Parker and Maryellen Riley and nephew, Jim Parker and two nieces, Noreen Fashing and Jackie Casale.
Visitation for family and friends is Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a service at 5:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Memorial Park, State Route 12 in Kirkland on Monday November 17th at 11:00 AM.
