Mrs. Paula M. Dapre, 75, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Paula was born in Rome, NY, on July 14, 1950, the daughter of Frederick and Josephine (LaGreco) Countryman. She was raised in Utica, attended St. Francis de Sales grade school and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On June 19, 1967, Paula was united in marriage with R. Wayne Dapre at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica. For 28 years, Paula was employed in food service with the Utica City School District. Paula was an avid sports enthusiast whose favorite teams included the NY Yankees, Chicago Blackhawks and Kansas City Chiefs and even enjoyed watching NASCAR with her husband Wayne. She was an excellent cook, baker and especially loved the holidays. Paula cherished her time spent with her daughters at the hairdressers, going to the casino with her husband and always enjoyed shopping. Paula’s greatest joy was her beloved family and most importantly her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love and devotion for them was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a member of Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Campus in Utica.
Mrs. Dapre is survived by her loving husband, Wayne; her four children, Ronald Wayne Dapre, Jr., of West Branch, NY, Robyn (Richard) Jantzi of Utica, Ryun (Jeanette) Dapre of Whitesboro and Rhett (Jen) Dapre of Utica; She was lovingly called grandma and nana by her 13 cherished grandchildren, Gabriele, Bruce, Josh, Zach, Amelia, Reece, Rylan, Lana, Kaydence, Jacob, Bryson, Landon and Nayah; 5 adored great grandchildren, Ava, Chris, Olivia, Harper and Cole; her special longtime friend, Kathy (Roger) Rogalski, as well as the “retired lunch ladies” from Donovan School and several nieces, nephews and her beloved canine companion, Ziggy. She was predeceased by her father, Frederick Countryman, mother and stepfather, Josephine and Lynn Fitch, daughter, Renee’ Rosenberger and grandson, Elwood.
In keeping with Paula’s wishes there is no visitation. The family will honor Paula in a Private Service.
