Krzysztof Wojtczak, age 70, of Utica, NY, passed away peacefully Saturday November 29, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughter.
Krzysztof was born on May 3, 1955, in Nysa, Poland to the late Czeslaw Wojtczak and Jozefa Marszałek Wojtczak. He immigrated to the United States in May 1979 and married Elizabeth Solecki on September 15,1979. They shared 46 years together.
Krzysztof had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He cherished his role as Dziadziu to his three wonderful grandchildren and was known to have made the best homemade chicken soup “rosol” for them, which they always called “dziadziu soup”.
Krzysztof is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Utica, daughter Melissa, and her husband Kevin Grealis of South Burlington, VT, three grandchildren: Logan, Layla and Lacey Grealis. He is also survived by his mother in law, Helen Solecki of Utica, dear cousins Elek and Bozena Piatek of Gilbert, AZ, Bogdan and Maria Piatek of New City, NY, nieces, nephews and friends both throughout the U.S. and Poland.
Krzysztof’s family would like to thank the many families and friends who supported them during this difficult time, and Hospice for providing comfort and care for Krzysztof.
A Catholic Mass and celebration of life for Krzysztof will be held at Holy Cross Church (formerly St. Mark's parish) at 440 Keyes Rd., Utica NY 13502 on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, at 11:00 am. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to a charity of your choice in Krzysztof memory.
