Mr. Alan J. Burdick, 73, of Forestport, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 6, 2025, at his home.

  Alan was born in Utica, on March 16, 1952, the son of Carlton L. and Evelyn M. (VanEtten) Burdick, and received his education in the Holland Patent School District. On December 29, 1984, Alan was united in marriage with Judith Welch, a devoted union of 26 years until Judith’s passing in 2010. For many years, Alan was employed as a truck driver for various trucking companies, a career he took great pride in.

  In his free time, Alan enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also found pleasure in gardening and snowmobiling, pursuits that reflected his love of nature and simple joys.

  Alan is survived by his loving daughter, Tanya Burdick and her fiancé, Charles Hayes, of Schuyler; his three cherished grandchildren, Kyleigh Burdick (Noah Skermont), Nicholas Burdick, and Savannah Burdick; and three dear friends, Jay and Larry and Sandy. In addition to his beloved wife, Judith, Alan was predeceased by his brother, Paul Burdick.

   Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, North Utica, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Alan will be laid to rest in Beechwood Cemetery in Forestport in the spring.
