Linda L. Rood passed away peacefully at the comfort of her own home on January 9, 2026.
Linda was born on July 8, 1953, in Oneida, New York, to the late Gerald and Joyce (Kimball) Rood. She was previously employed as a welder with Par Technology, from which she later retired.
Linda enjoyed many hobbies, but she especially loved fishing, playing poker, and baking with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Roger Boris; her son, Dana Lawton; and her two grandchildren, Gary Wilson and Samantha Wilson. Linda also had the joy of being a great-grandmother to Jayce and eagerly awaited the arrival of her great-grandchild, Deborah, who is expected to be born in April 2026. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her four sisters, Barbra, Brenda, Sherry, and Sharon, as well as her brother, Joseph.
Funeral services for Linda will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica, NY 13502.
