Louise I. Austin, 74, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

   Born in Utica on August 5, 1951, Louise was the daughter of Herman and Jane (Munson) Tritten and was educated in local schools. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—bingo, crossword puzzles, long walks, and playing cards, especially Gin Rummy. Louise also took great pride in keeping an immaculate home and was known for her love of cleaning. She was of the Catholic faith.

    Louise is survived by her devoted life partner, Brenda VanDusen; her daughter, Janie L. Austin; her sons, Richard D. Austin, Christopher M. Austin, and Clinton VanDusen; and her five cherished grandchildren—Justin, Brittany, Tyler, Brandon, and James. She also leaves one sister, Dorothy Munson, and one brother, Herman Williams, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Lashley, in June of this year.

    In keeping with Louise’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
