Mr. Ronald Norman Dousharm, known to most as Ronnie, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Wynn Hospital in Utica.
Ronnie was born in Utica, New York on January 29, 1951, a son of William O. and Alfreda (Welter) Dousharm. He was raised and educated in Utica, where he built a life rooted in hard work, family and friendship. Ronnie was a plumber by trade and very proud of it. He co-owned and operated his own business, RAND, before working for several companies throughout his career. He eventually retired from Indium Corporation in Utica, closing out a lifetime of honest work and dedication.
To his friends and family, Ronnie was known for his kindness, his clever wit and his steady willingness to help anyone in need. If someone needed a hand, Ronnie was there-no questions asked. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found peace in nature. An avid hunter, he enjoyed hunting deer, turkey and bear, and even took the adventure of a lifetime, hunting caribou in Canada. Ronnie was also a devoted fisherman and the proud owner of a boat, aptly named the “Ronnie D”.
Ronnie came from a large family and valued those bonds deeply. He is survived by his two brothers and one sister-in-law, Wallace and Joyce Dousharm of Remsen and Michael Dousharm of Floyd; his two sisters and one brother-in-law, Isabel Dousharm of Marcy and Karen and Andrew Maben of Deerfield, as well as several cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wiiliam and Alfreda; sisters, Alfreda Zammiello and Charmaine Kline and his brothers, William, Wesley, Alfred, Gerald, John, James, Thomas and George Dousharm.
Ronnie will be remembered as a kind-hearted, dependable man who loved the outdoors, treasured his family, and was always there for his friends. His presence will be missed, but his stories, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
