C. Mary Bolton Obituary

    C. Mary Bolton, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Wynn Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born in Binghamton, the daughter of William and Catherine (Radley) Bolton. She was raised in Utica and was a proud graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School. For many years, Mary was employed with Marine Midland Bank in Utica, where she was known for her dedication and friendly nature.

Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures—an occasional trip to the casino, sharing lunches with friends, and, most especially, spending time with her family. Mary found her greatest joy in helping family and friends, and in her later years, they returned that kindness by supporting and caring for her when she needed it most. She cherished gatherings filled with laughter and conversation and took great pride in staying connected with those she loved. Mary was a devoted parishioner of Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of the Rosary Campus in New Hartford.

Mary was predeceased by her four brothers, Bernard (Gloria) Bolton, Donald Bolton, Russell (Patricia) Bolton, and Robert Bolton, and by her nephew, Thomas Bolton, nephews-in-law, Thomas Fenton and Randall Stevens, and niece-in-law, Rita Bolton. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Regina Bolton. Mary took great pride in being an aunt to many generations of nieces and nephews:  Debra Fenton, Michael Bolton, Donna Stevens, Gary (Elena) Bolton, Laurie Elliott (Dave), Dale Bolton (Barb), Daniel Bolton, Mary Ellen Bolton, Joseph Bolton (Michelle), William (Chris) Bolton, Carol Paez, Timothy (Lisa) Bolton, Jennifer Bolton, Steven (Kathy) Bolton, Mark (Melissa) Bolton, and Patricia (Bill) Happy in addition to many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Mary also has many beloved cousins, both past and present.

Mary maintained life-long friendships and was an inspiration for how she made new friends throughout her life. The family is very appreciative of the support shown by all her friends, and especially her neighborhood friends that enabled her to stay in her home. The family would also like to extend a special thank you for the loving care provided for more than five years to Mary by the Faxton Dialysis Center.
