Mrs. Dorothy M. Spring, 97, a longtime resident of Whitesboro, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at The Center Rehab Facility in Cooperstown, with her loving family by her side.

     Dorothy was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 16, 1928, the daughter of Fred and Eunice Bost. She was raised and educated in Detroit. For many years, Dorothy was employed as a bookkeeper with various local businesses in the Utica area.  Her most cherished working experience was her time working alongside Pastor and Sister Maracich at Souls Harbor Pentecostal Church. Dorothy was a devoted Christian woman most recently attending Lifepoint church faithfully in her little red Saturn Coupe. She had a deep love for all animals, especially dogs. She was an avid reader. Above all, Dorothy found her greatest joy in her beloved family and the many treasured moments they shared together.

     Mrs. Spring is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Bradford and Patricia Spring of Marcy and Pastor Mitchell and Rose Spring of Oneonta; her cherished grandchildren, Stacey Spring of Schenectady, Sarah Spring and her husband Nicholas Avery of Black Rock, CT and Rebekah Judd and her husband Samuel of Oneonta and her adored great grandchildren, Isabel Rose Judd and Cooper Mitchell Avery.

     Visitation for family and friends is Tuesday, March 31 from 5-6 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. A funeral service will be held at 6pm at the conclusion of visitation with Pastor Mitchell Spring officiating. She will be laid to rest in Carr Cemetery in Whitesboro later in the spring.
