Mrs. JoAnne DelMonico, 79, a resident of the Foltsbrook Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Herkimer, formerly of South St., Utica, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the nursing home with her loving family by her side.

    JoAnne was born in Utica on January 26, 1947, the daughter of Henry and Marcelle (Ellis) Golden. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a proud graduate of Utica Free Academy. On June 11, 1976, she was united in marriage to Ralph J. DelMonico, who predeceased her in 2013. For many years, JoAnne was employed in the banking industry throughout the Utica area, ultimately retiring as a supervisor with Bank of America in Marcy, NY. She was a devoted member of Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Whitesboro. JoAnne will be fondly remembered as a true “social butterfly” with the gift of conversation, whose warmth and outgoing nature brought joy to all who knew her. Above all, she treasured her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.

     Mrs. DelMonico is survived by her loving children, Nadine (Ron) Barroncini of Utica, Todd (Michelle) Zielinski of North Utica, Michelle Zielinski of Rome, and Nicole (Gary) Zayas. She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially Rheahanna DelMonico, Dylan Zielinski, and Nyela Zielinski, who shared a particularly special bond with their grandmother. She is further survived by her longtime dear friend, Marie Wandley, and her family. In addition to her husband and parents, JoAnne was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

     Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation.
