Candace "Candy" Linder Obituary

Candace “Candy” Linder, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, leaving a deep emptiness in the hearts of all who loved her.

Born on February 16th, 1975, in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of Richard and Margaret (Alesandro) Linder. Candy was raised in Utica and attended local schools. She graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College with a degree in Chemical Dependency.

Candy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved decorating for the holidays, taking sunny summer walks, and creating a warm and welcoming home. She especially enjoyed getting her nails done and embraced the little things that brought her happiness. Known as the baker of the family, Candy carried on treasured recipes from her mother. Her famous seven-layer cookies were a cherished Christmas tradition.

Candy’s smile was radiant, genuine, and unforgettable, bringing light and comfort to all who knew her.

Her greatest love in life was her son, Ryan, who was her pride and joy. He was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment they shared together, finding her happiness in his presence and accomplishments.

Candy dedicated herself not only to her family but also to her work family. She served as the assistant to the nurse scheduler at Sitrin Health Care Center, where she helped coordinate schedules for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs caring for residents. Prior to that, she worked as a Companion Care Aide, where her compassion and dedication left a lasting impact. She took pride in ensuring residents were cared for with dignity through daily assistance, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting activities and transportation.

She is survived by her son Ryan; her brother, Richard Linder, and children, Justin and Regina Linder; her sister, Deanne Linder and her companion, Daniel Gomolka, and children: Billy and Amanda Hubbard; Jamie Hubbard and companion, Zara Zanichelli; Alexis Hubbard and companion, Daeon Blackshear Sr.; and Zachary Gomolka and companion, Owen Bartow. She is also survived by her cherished great-nieces and nephews: Miya and Kai Hubbard; Cayden Hubbard; and Gianna, Daeon Jr., and Layla Blackshear.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret Linder, and her beloved furry companion, Blaze.

Candy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, warmth, and kindness she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
