Cynthia A. Vaeth Obituary
Mrs. Cynthia A. Vaeth, 87, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Wynn Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Cynthia was born in Utica on May 2, 1938, the daughter of David and Katherine (Martin) Watson. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On August 21, 1965, Cynthia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Marcus E. Vaeth, Jr. Cynthia was formerly employed at Colozzi’s Party Card Shop in North Utica. She was an avid knitter who found great joy in creating and generously sharing her handmade pieces with family and friends. She will be remembered as a warm and caring person who always carried a joyful spirit and delighted in sharing that happiness with others. Above all, Cynthia cherished her beloved family, who were truly the light of her life. She was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Church in North Utica.
Mrs. Vaeth is survived by her beloved husband, Marcus; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Charles DePasquale of Marcy; her two cherished grandsons, Samuel DePasquale of Charlotte, NC and Joseph DePasquale of Marcy; her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Thomas Cutler of Deansboro and her dear friend Arlene Tinkler. In addition to her parents, David and Katherine Watson, Cynthia was predeceased by her sister, Judith Watson, and by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Vaeth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Cynthia’s memorial Mass of Christian burial on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 12:00 noon at St. Peter’s Church 422 Coventry Ave., North Utica. She will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro.
