Mrs. Joyce M. Olin. 79, a devoted member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Frankfort passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Oneida Extended Care Facility in Oneida ,NY.

      Joyce was born in Utica on March 25, 1947, the daughter of John and Mary (Fauteux) Lerch. Joyce was raised in the Taberg Annsville area graduating from the Camden School District. She was formerly employed at Mele Manufacturing. Joyce was united in marriage to the love of her life, Melvin Olin, and together they shared a blessed and devoted union until his passing in 2019. Joyce and Melvin made their home in Vernon, NY, where they enjoyed a comfortable life filled with travel, snowmobiling, and attending flywheel and pulley shows. They also dedicated much of their time in ministering at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Utica. Joyce found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, crafts, garage sailing, and Christmas shopping.  Her greatest joy was her beloved cats. Many years ago, Joyce accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and remained steadfast in her faith. She deeply loved her family and friends.

     Joyce is survived her sisters, Anna Kimball, Judy Lovenguth, Rosemary Summers, Diane Raspante, Patricia Matos, Pearl Savicki, Rena Stone, and Linda Swartz. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Geraldine Walters, and extended family members.

     In addition to her beloved husband, Melvin, and her parents, John and Mary, Joyce was predeceased by her brothers, John Lerch, Rickie Lerch and a sister Wendy Lerch.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joyce’s funeral service on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved Melvin. A private celebration of Joyce’s life will be held by her family at their convenience.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joyce’s honor may be made to an animal shelter of your choice or to the Handicap Ramp Fund at Calvary Baptist Church.
