Evelyn J. Dryden Obituary

Ms. Evelyn J. Dryden, 97, a resident of the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany, formerly of the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford and Oneida St., Utica, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the nursing home.


     Evelyn was born in Utica on September 16, 1928, the daughter of Miles and Christine (Rexford) Dryden. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. For fifty years, Evelyn was employed in the Forms Management/Form Control Department at Utica Mutual Insurance Company in New Hartford.

     Evelyn enjoyed reading, spending time with her dear friends, especially gathering for lunches with “the girls,” and hosting Friday night get-togethers at her home. She will be remembered for her warm hospitality, enduring friendships, and kind spirit. Evelyn was of the Catholic faith.


     Ms. Dryden is survived by her dear friends, Brenda Urbanke, Cynthia Terrier, Angie Perritano, Sylvia Nelson, Eva Ward, Libbie Mack and Bobbi Urbanke as well as Brandon Urbanke and Caitlyn Urbanke, who were like grandchildren to Evelyn. She is also survived by the many cherished friends she made while assisting Brenda at the Cutting Corner Hair Salon in South Utica. 


     Evelyn’s friends extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford and the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Evelyn throughout her time with you. Your dedication, warmth, and support will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.


      In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, there will be no calling houirs or services.
