Mr. Edward K. Blenis, 72, of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2026.

     Edward was born in Johnson City, New York on January 19, 1954, the son of Ralph and Myrtle (Delameter) Blenis. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On July 18, 1998, Edward married Donna J. Snyder. Throughout his working years, he was employed at Duxbak in Utica before dedicating 27 years of service as a Corrections Officer with the New York State Department of Corrections, most recently at Mohawk Correctional Facility. He retired in 2014 after a long and respected career. Edward had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in camping, fishing, and especially hunting. He was a proud member of the New York Mills Sportsman’s Association and the Steuben Fish and Game Club. Edward was also a man of the Methodist faith.

      Mr. Blenis is survived by his wife, Donna; his three sons and two daughters-in-law, Keith and Korey Blenis of Westmoreland, Craig and Yvonne Blenis of Summerville, SC and Sean Blenis of Westmoreland; and his stepson, Peter and Meghan Servello of Westmoreland. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Craig Blenis, Jr., Stephen Blenis, Daniel Blenis, Connor Blenis, Autumn Blenis, and Wyatt Servello; his sister, Lois Blenis of Vernon; his niece, Jennifer Sansone; and his cousins, James (Nancy) Delameter, Linda (Terry) Stiefel, and Cathy (Andrew) Deublen. Edward was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Myrtle Blenis; his grandparents, Waldo and Carrie Blenis and Eber and Clara Delameter; and his aunts and uncles, Martin Blenis, Edna Wilson, Ella Wiltsie, Alfred and Ada Bendwell, Carlton and Florence Delameter and Lois Blenis.

     He will be laid to rest, with military honors, in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Kirkland, New York in a private family service.
