Raymond M. Ferguson, Jr. Obituary

     Mr. Raymond M. Ferguson, Jr., 76 of Utica, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Oneida Center in Utica with his loving family by his side.


     Raymond was born in Utica on March 14, 1950, the son of Raymond M., Sr. and Edith (Foley) Ferguson. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. On July 7, 2006, Raymond was united in marriage to Georgia M. O’Dell. For many years, Ray was employed as a body man and mechanic at Wayne’s Welding in Yorkville, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2011. An avid hunter, Ray also had a special passion for shuffleboard and greatly enjoyed competing in his travel league alongside his wife and many friends.


     Mr. Ferguson is survived by his beloved wife, Georgia; his three step-children, Anita Segarra of Ilion, Frank Lonero of San Antonio Texas and Christopher (Joyce) Lonero of Utica, as well as 8 cherished grandchildren and 5 adored great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a sister.


     In keeping with Ray’s wishes there are no calling hours or services planned.


     Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., North Utica.
