Robert ("Bob Waz") Waskiewicz passed away on Sunday, May 31st, 2026 at the MVHS Nursing & Rehab Center. The following words were Bob's :  Bob was born on January 31st, 1948 to Edward and Stella (Sychtysz) Waskiewicz and was educated in the Utica City School District. After graduation Bob joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served from 1967 - 1971. Prior to his retirement Bob a dispatcher for Con-Way Express Trucking, among others. Bob was a parishoner of St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro, NY.  Bob was a member of the Whitestown Vets & the Molson Jones VFW. If Bob was not at one of the Vets clubs, he could be found fishing in the area. Bob is survived by his sister Judy and a godson Jeff Palaka ( and wife Bea Palaka), of Torrington, Ct. Bob is predeceased by his parents. 

     The family extends their deepest, most profound gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, relatives and godchildren who surrounded us with love, strength and unwavering support throughout Bob's long illness. Your kindness was a steady light during our darkest days, and while we cannot thank each of you individually, please know that every gesture, prayer and moment shared, brought us immeasurable comfort.  In addition, the family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Luke's Nursing Home for Bob's care. 

     A memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be held on Friday June 12th, 2026 @ 10:30am at St. Paul's Church, 16 Park Avenue, Whitesboro, NY.  The family will greet friends at the conclusion of Mass. Burial will be afterward at Holy Trinity Cemetery, where full Military Honors for Bob will commence.

     Funeral arrangements are under the wonderful care  and excellent guidance of Mr. John M. Sobrado of the Heintz Funeral Service Inc., of Utica, New York.
